Chiefs News: Looking for linebackers after Cooper McDonald injury

The Kansas City Chiefs are seeking reinforcements at linebacker following an injury to starter Cooper McDonald during their 31-10 Week 1 triumph over the Denver Broncos. McDonald sustained knee damage on Monday night, leading the organization to place him on injured reserve.

The designation ensures he will miss a minimum of four contests, though he is anticipated to make a comeback later in the season.

In response to the vacancy, defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo indicated the squad is leaning on Jack and Jeff Bassa. Kansas City also brought in four free-agent linebackers for workouts on Thursday as part of five total roster adjustments enacted ahead of Week 2.
