Celtic & Rangers contest closed doors sanctions

Both Celtic and Rangers are challenging the stadium penalties handed down to them following crowd trouble during their March fixture. Following post-match violence that resulted in forty-three arrests and injuries to police officers and stewards, an independent review revealed a serious danger of a crushing incident caused by supporters overwhelming security personnel.

Celtic previously criticized the penalties as excessive given the emotional context of the match, while Rangers stated they would review the decision before deciding on their next steps. Additionally, officials and clubs reached an agreement earlier this month to ban visiting supporters from all upcoming Old Firm fixtures in the SPFL for the current campaign.
