World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz has secured a wildcard entry into the Erste Bank Open in Vienna, marking his first appearance at the ATP 500 event since 2021.
The Spanish star will compete as the No. 2 seed, arriving in the Austrian capital on October 24th for the tournament, which runs from October 26th to November 1st.
His inclusion comes after the Six Kings Slam in Riyadh was postponed until late December due to security concerns following recent attacks on the Saudi capital, including a missile strike near the event’s host arena. Alcaraz’s participation adds significant star power to a field already featuring top-10 players like Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, and Flavio Cobolli, while also filling a void left by injuries to past champions Jannik Sinner and Jack Draper.
The Spaniard, chasing his fourth title of 2026, will look to build momentum after an early exit in Shanghai and capitalize on his semifinal run in Vienna five years ago, where he lost to Zverev in straight sets.
