Jon Rahm has officially ended his high-profile association with LIV Golf after reaching a separation agreement with the league, which is set to be finalized by a U.S. bankruptcy court on November 5.
The deal clears Rahm of his remaining contractual obligations, including over $100 million in deferred payments, while freeing LIV from its largest unsecured debt. Rahm’s departure marks the conclusion of a three-year tenure that saw him dominate LIV’s individual championships, winning all three season-long titles since joining in 2022.
His initial contract was reportedly valued at more than $300 million, supplemented by over $100 million in prize money during his time with the league. The split follows LIV’s financial struggles, including canceled events, a workforce reduction, and a shift toward restructuring under new investors for a potential 2027 relaunch—one Rahm has explicitly ruled out, per his legal representative.
Beyond financial relief, Rahm regains control of his name, image, and likeness, including his signature ‘Rahmbo’ logo and the branding for his Legion XIII team, though he cannot reuse the latter in another golf league. LIV, meanwhile, eliminates its largest creditor and gains operational flexibility as it rebuilds under bankruptcy protections.
