Cap Yeli! Brewers name Yelich first captain in franchise history

Christian Yelich has become the first official team captain in the history of the Milwaukee franchise, debuting a special jersey designation during a weekend matchup against the Cardinals. Teammates voted on the formal recognition right before a late-season contest, ensuring the veteran joins a very select group of players across the majors currently holding the designated leadership title.

Manager Pat Murphy noted that the initiative moved forward only after receiving the blessing of franchise great Robin Yount, whom Yelich regards as the true inaugural leader of the club.
