Chicago Bears starting quarterback Caleb Williams is making steady progress toward a return for the team’s Week 6 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, according to NFL Network reports. Williams, who has been sidelined since suffering a Grade 2 hamstring strain in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings, has been practicing and completed a pre-game workout before last Sunday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers.
The Bears have relied on Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent in Williams’ absence, with Keenum leading the team to a Week 3 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles while Bagent recovered from a concussion. However, the offense struggled in Week 5, falling 31-7 to Green Bay, and Bagent was replaced by Keenum in the second half.
Williams’ return would mark a critical turnaround for a Bears offense that has been inconsistent without its starter.
