Derbyshire police have formally ended their inquiry into an alleged downtown assault involving Brydon Carse, clearing the fast bowler of any criminal charges. The incident occurred last month during an evening out with Durham colleagues following their County Championship victory against Derbyshire, where Carse was taken into custody on suspicion of drunk and disorderly conduct.
The arrest originally cost Carse his roster spot for England's subsequent three-match Test series sweep against Pakistan. Although law enforcement has concluded its case without charges, the Cricket Regulator must now determine whether the international cricketer will face any sports-related disciplinary measures.
