Derbyshire police have concluded their inquiry into an alleged downtown Derby assault without pressing charges against Brydon Carse. The England and Durham pace bowler had been detained on suspicion of drunkenness and disorderly conduct while celebrating a County Championship victory over Derbyshire alongside his teammates last month.
The off-field incident cost Carse his roster spot during England's recent 3-0 sweep against Pakistan in their Test series. Although law enforcement has set aside the matter, the Cricket Regulator must still determine whether to pursue disciplinary measures against the cricketer.
