Broncos vs Jaguars preview: Denver looks to drastically improve

Following an AFC Championship Game appearance the prior campaign, the Denver Broncos encountered a rough start to their 2026 schedule with a 31-10 defeat against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night. Denver had entered the year with elevated hopes after acquiring receiver Jaylen Waddle via trade and giving quarterback Bo Nix another season alongside head coach Sean Payton, but the offense struggled mightily in the opener.

The Broncos now prepare for a Week 2 matchup against Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars, who previously beat Denver 34-20 at Empower Field at Mile High in December 2025. 5-point favorites heading into the contest.
