Brandon Staley pushes back against Troy Aikman's criticism: It's not true

New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Brandon Staley fired back at ESPN analyst Troy Aikman’s postgame critique of his unit’s struggles in a 45-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons dominated with 420 total yards, including 205 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns, while the Saints defense—already missing key contributors like linebacker Kaden Elliss and edge rushers Carl Granderson and Andernee Jennings—faced a relentless ground attack.

Staley dismissed Aikman’s suggestion that his scheme lacked answers, pointing out that the Saints had previously held Bijan Robinson to just two rushing touchdowns in two prior meetings. "Our guys played the right way," Staley said, emphasizing effort and technique over personnel shortages.

"We’re focusing on Minnesota next and learning from this game."
