Bradford's Powell happy he shelved retirement plans

Bradford forward Powell recently expressed contentment with his current role as a substitute after extending his contract for another year in August. Having netted four goals off the bench for the League One table-toppers this term, the thirty-two-year-old explained that he is satisfied coming on late to influence matches and has no immediate intentions of retiring.

Although past physical setbacks stemming from a lack of self-care earlier in his career have taken a toll, the former England Under-21 international is simply appreciating every remaining moment on the pitch. Manager Alexander noted following the team's victory on Tuesday that the forward will not be confined to substitute appearances indefinitely and commended his capacity to alter the course of a game.
