Blues' Justin Barron Was Originally Brought In As Depth, Now There's An Opportunity For More

Recently acquired via waivers from Nashville, defenseman Justin Barron faces an unexpected chance to secure regular playing time with the St. Louis Blues.

Roster openings emerged following long-term medical absences for Logan Mailloux, who requires hand surgery and an eight-week recovery minimum, alongside Tyler Tucker, who is currently managing a lower-body ailment. General manager Alexander Steen expressed confidence in the newcomer's potential to bolster the club's right-side defensive depth.

In tandem with Barron's arrival, management also promoted top draft pick Adam Jiricek from the American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield to evaluate internal options.
