Bellamy right to speak to Burnley - FAW chief Adams

Football Association of Wales chief football officer David Adams endorsed Craig Bellamy's summer discussions with Burnley regarding their managerial vacancy following Scott Parker's departure. Bellamy, who joined Wales from the Turf Moor side in 2024 and remains under contract through Euro 2028, has been upfront about his ambitions to eventually return to club management.

Despite incorrect rumors that he had accepted the post, the Wales manager ultimately telephoned Adams to confirm his personal choice to stay. Adams, who stayed in constant contact with Clarets chairman Alan Pace throughout the situation, noted that the association maintains contingency shortlists of prospective managers, specifically favoring Welsh former internationals who fit the successful blueprint used over the last decade.

In addition to addressing Bellamy's future, Adams celebrated Cardiff's Principality Stadium being selected to host the 2029 women's Champions League final, branding the development a transformative moment for football across the country. The capital previously staged the women's showpiece at Cardiff City Stadium in 2017, coinciding with the men's final taking place at the national stadium.
