The Bangladesh Cricket Board has established a multi-format domestic competition titled D3 ahead of the 2026-27 calendar, consolidating first-class, List A, and T20 fixtures under a unified commercial umbrella. Six corporate backers have secured three-year agreements to fund the participating sides, with an initial player draft scheduled for next month to fill twenty-three roster spots per team.
Board president Tamim Iqbal spearheaded the initiative to revitalize local enthusiasm, while prominent marquee athletes have already been assigned to each franchise, including Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Towhid Hridoy, and Mushfiqur Rahim.
