Australian umpire Ben Treloar will take charge of two Ranji Trophy matches in India as part of a reciprocal exchange program between Cricket Australia and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). His assignments begin with Delhi’s clash against Gujarat from October 18 to 21, followed by Mumbai’s game against Haryana from October 26 to 29.
Treloar, who has officiated extensively in domestic Australian cricket—including 30 first-class matches, 20 List A games, and 39 Big Bash League fixtures—also serves as Cricket New South Wales’ Umpire Education Officer, a role that has earned him recognition for developing emerging officials in the sport. Meanwhile, Indian umpire Parashar Joshi will travel to Australia to officiate in two Sheffield Shield matches and one One Day Cup fixture, marking the continuation of the exchange initiative that has seen officials from both nations gain cross-border experience.
Joshi’s Australian stint begins with Queensland’s Sheffield Shield game against Tasmania at the Gabba, followed by a One Day Cup match at the same venue and a Sheffield Shield fixture between New South Wales and Queensland at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The program, which has faced logistical challenges in the past—such as an Australian umpire falling ill during a Ranji Trophy match in 2016—highlights the mutual commitment to fostering umpiring expertise across international borders.
