Australia has added Sam Harper and Nic Maddinson to its Test roster ahead of the upcoming series against South Africa, bolstered by Harper's recent 128-run performance for Australia A against India A in Puducherry. The squad modifications come as Josh Inglis recovers from a fractured right index finger, which will sideline him for the opening match, alongside fitness concerns for all-rounder Cameron Green following an abdominal strain.

The three-match tour features the opening fixture in Durban, followed by encounters in Gqeberha and Johannesburg as part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle.
