Australia gain edge in Test decider after late Bavuma blow hurts South Africa

South Africa holds a slim 40-run advantage with four wickets down in their second innings during the third Test at Newlands. The hosts ended the day at 140 for four, facing a challenging path as they attempt to set a defendable target for Australia.

Key contributors Ackerman and Bavuma were dismissed for 62 and 35 respectively, leaving the side in a precarious state. Matthew Breetzke and Ryan Rickelton are set to resume play on the fourth morning, currently unbeaten on 19 and eight runs each.
