Astros hire Randy Flores as new general manager to continue whirlwind offseason

The Houston Astros have appointed former St. Louis Cardinals executive Randy Flores as their new general manager, filling a vacancy left by the departure of Dana Brown during the previous August.

Flores brings a background in scouting and talent acquisition to his new role and will be officially introduced during a morning gathering on Monday. Meanwhile, the franchise also continues its search for a new field manager following the conclusion of Joe Espada's tenure after the team's postseason exit.
