Astros at Athletics Game Discussion: 9/26/2026

The Houston Astros continue their final regular-season road trip with the third contest of a four-game series against the Athletics in West Sacramento. Right-hander Hayden Wesneski takes the mound for Houston, seeking his sixth victory since rejoining the rotation in July, while the Athletics counter with righty Jack Perkins.

Houston enters this matchup locked in a tight American League West division race alongside the Rangers, holding the tiebreaker advantage with just two games remaining.

In the previous night's action at Sutter Health Park, the Athletics edged the Astros five to six despite home runs from Christian Walker and Cam Smith, alongside an RBI double by Yainer Diaz. On the season, Houston boasts two hundred twenty home runs and leads the American League in two-out runs, fueled largely by Isaac Paredes pacing the Major Leagues in two-out runs batted in.
