Arteta: Dowman could go out on loan in future

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has indicated that teenage talent Max Dowman might be sent out on a temporary transfer down the line, explaining that the club reassesses the 16-year-old's development on a six-month cycle. Dowman recently delivered an eye-catching performance by grabbing a brace during a full 90-minute Carabao Cup victory over Ipswich, drawing praise from teammate Mikel Merino, who drew parallels between the youngster and Spain's Lamine Yamal.

Despite that display, the cup tie accounts for the attacker's sole competitive action of the campaign, having been omitted from matchday selections in league victories against Aston Villa and Sunderland.

Arteta, who reflected on his own stint moving to Paris Saint-Germain at age 17, revealed the Gunners ignored outside interest over the summer because they prioritized keeping the young prodigy for pre-season preparation. While any eventual assignment elsewhere will hinge on team needs, roster health, and competitive opportunities, the manager emphasized that Dowman, who previously established himself as the Premier League's youngest-ever goalscorer, remains focused on contributing directly to Arsenal for the time being.
