Arsenal open to Dowman loan in right circumstances

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has indicated that the club will consider sanctioning a temporary exit for Max Dowman if a loan switch benefits the teenager's growth. The 16-year-old talent, who established new benchmarks last campaign as the youngest scorer for both the Gunners and across Premier League history, made 13 appearances during the team's title-winning season that ended a 22-year drought.
Although yet to play in the league this autumn, Dowman opened his season tally with a brace during Tuesday's 4-2 Carabao Cup victory against Ipswich. Having finished his GCSE exams over the summer, the prospect reaches the minimum loan eligibility age when turning 17 on 31 December, ahead of the January transfer window where former midfielder Jack Wilshere's Luton Town are reportedly keen on a deal.
Arteta plans to review Dowman's progress and squad opportunities every six months rather than rushing him out, recalling his own experience moving to Paris Saint-Germain at age 17. The North London side currently boast seven straight victories across all competitions this season after beginning with a Community Shield triumph against Manchester City.
Dowman now targets a spot in the matchday squad for Saturday's upcoming Premier League fixture against Brighton, with Arteta praising the young attacker's on-pitch statements during training and midweek action.
