Arsenal open to Dowman loan in right circumstances

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has indicated that the club will consider sanctioning a temporary exit for Max Dowman during the upcoming winter window if it benefits the young attacker's progression. The 16-year-old, who made history during the previous campaign as the youngest goalscorer both for the club and in the English top flight, netted twice in a 4-2 League Cup triumph against Ipswich during his maiden outing of the current campaign.

Although Luton boss Jack Wilshere has shown an appetite to recruit the teenager upon him turning 17 on December 31, Arteta emphasized that any decision will depend on squad depth, match time, and regular biannual reviews.

Dowman made 13 appearances last season as the Gunners secured their first Premier League crown in 22 years, but he has yet to log league minutes this term amidst the squad's perfect run of seven straight victories across all competitions following their Community Shield victory against Manchester City. Reflecting on his own teenage loan spell at Paris Saint-Germain at age 17, Arteta pointed out that sending talent away requires the correct environment and manager faith, though Dowman's midweek display puts him in contention for Saturday's league match versus Brighton.
