Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has dismissed criticism of his team’s current approach, insisting it stems from only a tiny fraction of observers. Despite a strong start to the season—winning 10 of their first 11 matches—the Gunners have faced scrutiny over their attacking output, scoring just 11 goals in seven Premier League games, including a late winner from Noni Madueke in a narrow 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.
Arteta defended their style, highlighting Arsenal’s dominance in possession, shots, and player involvement, while acknowledging challenges against deep-defending opponents. He noted that their lack of set-piece goals this term contrasts with last season’s success, when they led the league in such scoring en route to the title.
The Spaniard also admitted room for improvement, particularly in breaking down low blocks, as Arsenal prepare for a Champions League clash with Bayern Munich. Goalkeeper David Raya echoed his manager’s sentiment, suggesting the team’s near-perfect record speaks for itself and that they remain focused on winning matches rather than addressing external opinions.
