Army’s ground-and-pound offense overwhelmed Florida Atlantic in a 56–24 rout at Michie Stadium, marking the Black Knights’ third straight conference win. The Owls, who had led the FBS in passing volume last season, managed just 324 yards and three touchdowns through the air, while Army’s rushing attack dominated with 479 yards and eight touchdowns on an 8.0-yard average per carry.
Quarterback Cale Hellums led the charge, tying the program record with five rushing touchdowns—including a career-high 195 rushing yards—and now leads FBS quarterbacks with 120 rushing yards per game. Running backs Jake Rendina and Bryson Luter each broke free for 60-yard gains, combining for 164 yards and two scores, as Army’s defense forced three turnovers, including an opening-interception by Elijah Walton and two fumbles converted for 21 points.
The Black Knights’ run-heavy approach proved unstoppable, with Hellums completing just one of two passes and Army throwing fewer times than in any game since last year’s American Championship win.
