Arizona Diamondbacks News, 10/12: First blood to Milwaukee

The Arizona Diamondbacks are retaining hitting coach Joe Mather for the upcoming season following an inconsistent offensive performance in 2026. While the team struggled with right-handed pitching and situational hitting, they finished tied for ninth in total runs scored.

Looking ahead, the organization is evaluating its prospect pool, including Demetrio Crisantes, who is currently participating in the Arizona Fall League. Owner Ken Kendrick faces pressure to maintain payroll levels to ensure the club remains competitive, as the farm system may not be deep enough to compensate for the departure of established talent.
