The Atlanta Dream’s push for a championship will face an unexpected hurdle as the team scrambles to secure a suitable venue for the 2026 WNBA Finals. After months of negotiations, the league confirmed that Games 3 and 4 against the Golden State Valkyries will move from the originally planned Gateway Center Arena in College Park to downtown’s State Farm Arena, offering a capacity boost from 3,500 to 16,888 seats per game.
However, scheduling conflicts forced last-minute adjustments: a concert and two NBA games by the Atlanta Hawks—including a regular-season matchup against the Houston Rockets—clashed with the Dream’s planned dates, requiring the league to reschedule Game 3 to October 21 and shift Game 4 to an earlier start on October 24. The larger arena’s flexibility allows for both WNBA and NBA events to coexist, but a potential Game 6 remains unresolved due to another Hawks game scheduled for October 29, leaving the Dream’s championship plans in limbo until further notice.
