Andy Reid says ESPN's Chris Berman sent him the 90-year-old play that cemented Chiefs' Week 1 blowout of Broncos

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid reached into football history during a 31-10 Week 1 blowout against the AFC West rival Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. Reid revealed that ESPN personality Chris Berman originally provided him with the vintage trick play, titled "Heisman," which dates all the way back to 1936.

The creative design involved two fresh roster additions, as quarterback Justin Fields linked up with running back Kenneth Walker III for a late touchdown.

The contest also featured Patrick Mahomes returning from a knee ailment to guide Kansas City's offense. Following the triumph, Mahomes credited Walker for establishing the evening's physical tempo in his debut performance with the franchise, which also saw Denver utilize their own trickery alongside Jaylen Waddle.
