Andrew Green’s first original golf course design, Firefly, recently opened its doors to members over the Labor Day weekend in Spring Hill, Tennessee, just south of Nashville. The private club, established in 2025, has quickly established a reputation for how seamlessly its layout integrates with the surrounding landscape, offering players expansive views that allow them to observe multiple holes simultaneously.
The outward nine features a balanced mix of three par 3s, three par 4s, and three par 5s, a sequence that Green carefully arranged to create variety and interest throughout the round.
During a recent media visit, Green joined groups to play several holes, providing a unique opportunity to experience his design decisions firsthand. The course was tested under a wide range of weather conditions, with temperatures dropping from the low 60s to the 50s Fahrenheit and accompanied by strong winds that gave the round a distinct character.
Despite being a young facility, the property already feels settled, with the greens and bunkers positioned to take full advantage of the wooded hillsides and broad sightlines available on the land.
