All’s well: Phillies 7, Rays 3

The Philadelphia Phillies secured the final National League playoff berth on Sunday afternoon by defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 7-3 at Citizens Bank Park. Starting pitcher Zack Wheeler delivered six strong innings, allowing just one run and five hits while striking out three to earn his fourteenth victory of the season.

Offensively, the Phillies established an early advantage through contributions from Kyle Schwarber, Bryson Stott, and J.T. Realmuto.

Later in the contest, Bryce Harper and Edmundo Sosa added home runs to expand the lead, helping the squad comfortably weather subsequent relief appearances by Alex McFarlane, Jesus Luzardo, and Jhoan Duran.
