Alexander Zverev secured his spot in the Shanghai Masters semifinals by defeating Alex de Minaur in two identical sets of 6-4, 6-4. The top-seeded German relied on an impenetrable service game, denying his opponent a single break point while outhitting the Australian baseline specialist.

Zverev will next face Alejandro Davidovich Fokina as he chases his maiden tournament trophy and an eighth career ATP Masters 1000 crown.
