Alexander Volkanovski Explains Urgency to Finish Movsar Evloev

Featherweight titleholder Alexander Volkanovski secured a second-round technical knockout victory against Movsar Evloev during the UFC 333 co-main event. This result marked his second successful defense in his current championship run and his first stoppage win since defeating Yair Rodriguez at UFC 290 in July 2023.

Volkanovski later revealed that he competed while battling an illness, which compelled him to seek an early finish rather than risk a full five-round bout with compromised stamina. Following this win, the champion plans to recuperate before returning to competition in 2027.

Potential future opponents include Jean Silva, Aljamain Sterling, Kevin Vallejos, or a move to the lightweight division for a matchup against Justin Gaethje.
