Alex de Minaur gives his honest opinion on whether Grand Slams should scrap playing best of five matches

Tennis star Alex de Minaur recently shared a balanced perspective on whether major tournaments should eliminate longer matches. Following a tough victory over Andrey Rublev, the Australian athlete explained that while commercial interests might favor shorter contests, he personally prefers keeping the traditional format due to the history and heritage of the sport.

Other players across the tour hold contrasting views, with Carlos Alcaraz supporting the longer format and Daniil Medvedev expressing openness to changing it. During the same media appearance, the competitor also expressed gratitude toward his loyal fanbase in Beijing after returning to compete in the region.
