During his lengthy recovery period, the Indian fast bowler also dealt with the profound personal hardship of his elder sister receiving a cancer diagnosis last year.

Having experienced a wide spectrum of personal and professional challenges throughout his career, the paceman is now focused on representing his national team again and recalling the sacrifices he made for Bengal.
