Afghanistan has omitted veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi and batter Darwish Rasooli from its upcoming squads for fixtures against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. The team previously hosted a three-match T20I series against India in New Delhi during September, where the hosts suffered a three-nil sweep.
Nabi participated in all three matches against India but failed to take a wicket in two of them, while Rasooli struggled with his form by posting scores of 26 and two against India followed by a pair of ducks at the Asian Games 2026. Afghanistan's upcoming schedule features a one-off Test against Bangladesh beginning on October nine, a tri-ODI series involving Zimbabwe and Bangladesh from October 17 to 23, and three T20Is alongside two Tests against Zimbabwe, with every match scheduled to take place in the UAE.
