New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn made a factual error during a pre-recorded sideline interview before the second half of a game against the New England Patriots. Glenn stated that his team would receive possession to begin the second period, claiming this gave them an opportunity to advance the ball and score.
In reality, the Patriots held the ball at the start of the second half, a detail visible in the footage of the exchange. The Jets entered the break trailing 17-3 while sitting with a 2-3 record following a previous 3-14 season.
Despite the initial confusion, New York mounted a comeback effort by putting up 10 points in the third quarter. The team closed the gap to within a touchdown late in the fourth quarter before the Patriots secured the final victory.
