5 winners, 5 losers from Lions’ loss to the Panthers

Detroit fell to Carolina by a 32-26 margin on Sunday night, dropping their record to 2-1 before an upcoming matchup with Arizona. Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 29 of 41 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns, orchestrating a dominant offensive effort from the opening whistle.

Wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan proved unstoppable against the Lions secondary, hauling in 14 receptions for 193 yards and two scores, while John Metchie added three catches for 37 yards. Lions defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard faced heavy criticism for his play calling, particularly regarding defensive coverages that failed to slow down Carolina's passing attack despite a strong performance from the defensive line.
