5 Questions with the Enemy: Drew Petzing’s return, the struggling Lions defense and more

As the Detroit Lions prepare to face the Arizona Cardinals, questions linger regarding the team's offensive trajectory under Drew Petzing and the puzzling struggles of their defensive unit. Despite ranking seventh in EPA per play and fifth in scoring, the offense has faced recent red zone difficulties, dropping from a high conversion rate to settling for field goals against Carolina.

While the defensive line remains a strength with high pressure rates from Aidan Hutchinson, Alim McNeill, and Tyleik Williams, the secondary has faltered significantly. The defense currently ranks last in the league for net passing yards allowed when generating pressure, a trend exacerbated by poor preparation against the Panthers' RPO schemes.
