Four former Buffalo Sabres skaters found themselves on the waiver wire on September 27. Henri Jokiharju found himself pushed out in Boston due to a heavy defensive roster after playing 41 matches last year with two goals, 15 points, and a plus-2 mark.
Sam Lafferty hit the wire with Florida following a summer signing, previously appearing in 29 contests for Chicago with a goal and an assist. Ilya Lyubushkin was waived by Nashville after arriving via trade from Dallas during the offseason, where his prior campaign featured a goal, nine points, 68 body checks, and a plus-1 rating across 53 games.
Vinnie Hinostroza rounded out the group by being cast off by Colorado, having previously split 65 appearances between Minnesota and Florida for six tallies and 18 points.
