Michigan secured a narrow 21-18 victory against Penn State at Michigan Stadium on Saturday after making a crucial quarterback change at halftime. Freshman Tommy Carr took over under center, completing 5-of-7 passes for 47 yards alongside 36 rushing yards and a touchdown to spark the offense.
The Wolverines overcame a sluggish opening period where the defense permitted a lengthy drive, though they limited the visitors to just a field goal. Interceptions by Rod Moore and Chris Bracy, combined with a forced fumble from Bracy, ultimately helped secure the conference win while bench starter Bryce Underwood finished the first half with 43 yards and two interceptions.
