3 names emerging as possible replacements for Deion Sanders

Following a 29-7 defeat to Texas Tech on October 3, Colorado sits at 2-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play, leading to speculation regarding Deion Sanders' future despite his contract running through 2029. While the university has made no official moves, potential successors being discussed include Dan Mullen, Willie Fritz, and Jason Eck.

Mullen brings experience from Mississippi State, Florida, and his current role at UNLV, where he earned the Steve Spurrier First-Year Coach Award after a 10-4 debut. Fritz is noted for his program-building history at schools like Tulane and his recent success at Houston, where he led the team to a 10-3 record and a Texas Bowl victory over LSU in 2025.
