2026 Week 5 Preview: UTSA Roadrunners @ Rice Owls

UTSA hits the road to open conference play against Rice this Saturday evening at First Community Stadium in Houston, with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. Eastern on ESPN+.

The Roadrunners bring a 3-1 record into the matchup, having recently secured a 59-45 win over Colorado State that stands as the second-highest scoring performance in program history. Quarterback Owen McCown guides an efficient offensive unit that averages 35.3 points per contest, backed by a strong backfield featuring Will Henderson III, Brandon High Jr., and A'Marion Peterson.

Rice enters the contest looking to repeat its previous success against the Lone Star State rivals, though poor weather could impact the clash between the visiting aerial attack and the hosts' option scheme.
