A pair of defensemen who previously played for the Montreal Canadiens have secured new roster spots via the waiver wire. Justin Barron was picked up by the St.
Louis Blues after being made available by Nashville, while William Trudeau headed to the Nashville Predators following his availability from the New York Rangers.
Barron played fifty-two contests last year for Nashville with nine assists, building on four seasons with Montreal that included thirteen goals and thirty-one points across 109 appearances. Trudeau was dealt to the Rangers over the summer in exchange for Brett Berard after spending four years with the American Hockey League affiliate in Laval, though he still awaits his first appearance at the major league level.
