St. Louis Blues head coach Jim Montgomery plans to utilize twenty-year-old rookie Adam Jiricek on the power play right away, stating that elite talent should be unleashed.

Although initially slated for the third defensive pairing alongside Cam Fowler, the young blueliner could eventually see minutes with Philip Broberg. Jiricek arrives in the NHL following a standout junior campaign in the OHL, where his thirty-one man-advantage points led all defensemen during the 2025-26 season.

Additional roster shuffling also brings Justin Barron into a more prominent role due to long-term injuries among the defensive corps.
