[WATCH] Shahid Afridi faces Shaheen Shah Afridi in the nets

A viral video features former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi batting against his son-in-law, current ODI skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi, during a practice session. The two cricketers, who are related by the marriage of Shaheen to Ansha Afridi in February 2023, were filmed as the senior all-rounder executed a cover drive against the fast bowler.

This training encounter occurs as Shaheen shifts his focus toward red-ball cricket and his ODI leadership duties following his exclusion from the T20I squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. Shaheen, the 2021 ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year, recently captained Pakistan to a 2-1 ODI series victory over Australia in May 2026, where he secured seven wickets.
