Rob Gronkowski does not mind that his iconic No. 87 jersey in New England has been reissued.

The franchise recently signed wideout Romeo Doubs to a four-year contract worth $68 million, and the former Green Bay Packers pass catcher decided to retain the jersey digits he wore previously. Appearing on the Up & Adams show, Gronkowski revealed the team never gave him a heads-up about the selection, yet he stated he was completely fine with it.

The former tight end, who becomes eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2027, noted that eight jerseys have been retired by the organization, but he argued that Tom Brady's No. 12 should stand as the single untouchable digit in franchise history.
