Nick Chubb to sign one-day contract with Browns, retire in Cleveland, per report

Running back Nick Chubb is returning to the franchise that originally drafted him, planning to finalize a one-day contract to officially retire as a member of the Cleveland organization. The veteran ball carrier spent the first seven seasons of his eight-year professional career with the squad, earning four Pro Bowl nods after being selected out of Georgia with the thirty-fifth overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Following productive early campaigns that consistently yielded high yardage and touchdown totals, injuries severely hampered his output during the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He subsequently played the 2025 campaign with the Houston Texans alongside Woody Marks, helping that team reach the divisional round of the playoffs before stepping away from the game this summer.
