Abhishek Nayar has outlined a strategic plan for India regarding fifteen-year-old opening batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has spent the initial three fixtures of the ongoing five-game T20I series against the West Indies on the substitute bench. While Sanju Samson has maintained his spot at the top of the batting order alongside Abhishek Sharma during these matches, Nayar recommended that the national team first establish a three to one series advantage before providing the teenager with an appearance in the final fixture.
The fourth encounter of the contest is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad on Wednesday, October 14, following earlier games hosted across Lucknow, Ranchi, Indore, and Bengaluru. Sooryavanshi previously participated in the Asian Games 2026, recording scores of thirty-eight and fifteen while opening alongside Sharma, though he has yet to break into the playing eleven against the West Indies.
