Mumbai Indians batting coach Robin Uthappa is aiming to transform the franchise into a formidable force on the road after a disappointing 2025 campaign where the team placed ninth out of ten squads. Under the leadership of head coach Kieron Pollard, Uthappa hopes to instill a sense of intimidation in opponents at away matches similar to the reputation the team currently holds at their home ground.
He intends to rebuild fan trust by embracing an underdog mentality throughout the upcoming cycle. Additionally, Uthappa plans to focus on mentoring domestic players by providing them with clear guidance and support to help them reach their potential.
He emphasized that he finds personal fulfillment in seeing these young cricketers succeed, drawing on his past experience of mentoring a player who eventually reached the national Test squad.
