‘He’s Ruining His Reputation’ — Former Texas LB Believes Deion Sanders Has Completely Mishandled Colorado’s Murky Julian Lewis Situation

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is facing criticism from former Texas linebacker Emmanuel Acho regarding the handling of freshman quarterback Julian Lewis. Acho argued on a media program that Sanders risks alienating elite high school prospects and their families by publicly questioning the young quarterback's leadership skills.

The controversy follows a recent game where Sanders pulled the freshman signal-caller at halftime during a twenty-three to thirteen defeat against Baylor, turning instead to backup Isaac Wilson. Acho expressed concern that top-tier quarterback recruits might now choose alternative schools like Oregon or USC over Colorado, noting that while the Buffaloes may easily attract defensive backs, other positions face questions regarding development and national appeal.
