'Fourth place almost feels like a small victory' - Fabio Jakobsen starts to bounce back in Guangxi

Fabio Jakobsen secured a fourth-place finish during the third stage of the Tour of Guangxi, marking his strongest performance at the WorldTour level since February 2024. After struggling with health issues and a lengthy winless streak, the Dutch rider is showing signs of recovery following his mid-season transfer to Visma-Lease a Bike.

Sports director Gaëton Pons noted that while Jakobsen is still regaining his peak physical condition, his recent results demonstrate renewed confidence and progress. Despite the challenging 212.3km route featuring significant climbing, Jakobsen successfully navigated the finale with assistance from his teammates, specifically citing the support provided by Owain Doull.
